Global Alliance for Energy Productivity Officially Launched 

Alliance President Kateri Callahan announced the launch of the Global Alliance for Energy Productivity before the audience heard from the Steering Committee Chair, Kandeh Yumkella of Sustainable Energy for All. The Global Alliance is a new initiative modeled after Energy 2030, and will take the conversation about energy productivity to a global audience, securing commitments from policymakers and corporate leaders to encourage productivity.


Systems Efficiency Initiative (SEI) Leaders Gather at EE Global 

Researchers have found that device-level efficiency has begun to result in diminishing returns. Instead, focus has shifted to systems level efficiency and the high level results and increased productivity that stems from how devices and users interact with the overall system. The newly launched Systems Efficiency Initiative (SEI) aims to close the gaps in whole system building energy efficiency to meet our future energy challenges.


Award Winners: Hitachi, Philips Lighting and Whirlpool

Kateri Callahan presented Whirlpool’s Executive Vice President of Global Product Organization Dave Szczupak, Philips Lighting Head of Global Public and Government Affairs Harry Verhaar and Hitachi’s Senior Vice President of Energy and Smart Cities Solutions Erica Hauver with 2015 EE Visionary Awards. The three companies were celebrated for their leadership and commitment to energy productivity through innovative technologies.


Executive Dialogue Sessions Wrap-Up: Day Two 

Four Executive Dialogue sessions covering the topics of Government Leadership, Market Transformation, the Built Environment and Investment & Finance were held during the final day of EE Global. Within those discussions, panelists referenced the “internet of things”, green bonds, functionality between buildings and other whole systems and more.
