The morning plenary session will feature two fireside chats offering perspectives on <em>Energy Efficiency’s Role in the Transition Towards a Competitive, Innovative Low Carbon Economy. </em>The first chat will feature a dialogue between energy officials from major economies who’ve prioritized energy efficiency policy as a means of growing their economy. Participants will discuss policy measures and programs that are successfully driving increased energy productivity, as well as the outlook for energy efficiency policy, including gaps, in their respective economies. This chat will be moderated by <strong>Jason Hartke</strong>, President, Alliance to Save Energy and feature <strong>Santiago Creuheras Diaz</strong>, Director General, Energy Efficiency & Sustainability, Mexico Energy Ministry, <strong>Andrew McAllister</strong>, Commissioner, California Energy Commission and <strong>Mechthild Wörsdörfer</strong>, Director, European Commission's Directorate General for Energy. The second chat will examine where energy efficiency fits within the wider consideration of energy transition and climate policy. In the context of the Clean Energy Ministerial meeting taking place in Copenhagen later in the week, we will ask key leaders to say how they see the positioning of energy efficiency and its role in addressing global energy issues. This chat will be moderated by <strong>Brian Motherway</strong>, Head of Energy Efficiency, International Energy Agency and feature <strong>Joyce Henry</strong>, Director General, Office of Energy Efficiency, Natural Resources Canada and <strong>Christian Zinglersen</strong>, Head, Clean Energy Ministerial.
