Copenhagen is a city of contradictions, combining history and tradition with innovation and transformation to form a progressive modern city brimming with old world charm.  A global leader in sustainability and a hub for energy efficiency leadership, Copenhagen aspires to be the first carbon neutral capital city by 2025 – a goal only made possible through aggressive and robust energy efficient policies and technology. Energy efficiency has been integrated into every aspect of city life, from the construction of one of the largest district heating systems – connecting to 98% of households – to a new district cooling system.  It is no wonder Copenhagen is home to two EE Visionary Award Recipients! This remarkable city will serve as the perfect backdrop to EE Global, providing a source of inspiration and “hygge” – a Danish term describing a special feeling or moment.

EE Global will be held at two centrally located venues. The Forum will convene on Monday, May 21 at UN City – a Platinum LEED certified building and the winner of the European Commission’s Green Building Award (as well as the 2016 EE Visionary Award). On Tuesday, May 22 delegates will head to the center of town, as we host the Forum at the historic Odd Fellow Palace.
